Biotech degrades organic residues left behind after cleaning

Traditional technology primarily works by lifting and emulsifying organic matter and washing it away – typically some organics are left behind, either because they can’t be reached or they can’t be easily seen. The right choice of bacterial strain allows this organic matter, and any left behind, to be degraded. Hundreds of strains were analysed and tested to identify those that produced the most effective enzymes for the degradation of fats, starch, cellulose and protein.

  • Up to 97% of organic matter is degraded into oxygen and water rather than simply being moved around
  • Bacteria that produce Lipase break down fats, oils and greases, Protease breaks down proteinaceous matter, e.g. meats, cheeses, Cellulase breaks down cellulose, e.g. vegetable matter, Amylase breaks down starch, e.g. potatoes, pasta
